How legislators get work done in Springfield - discussion and questions with Rep. Bob Morgan and Sen. Julie Morrison: Join the League of Women Voters of Highland Park-Highwood and League of Women Voters of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area for a virtual program “Behind the Curtain, How Our State Legislators Get the Work Done.” The program is planned to offer our communties a better understanding of how our representatives carry out their responsibilities and address community needs. Joining us for this panel discussion will be State Senator Julie Morrison and State Representative Bob Morgan. The conversation will be moderated by Carol Russ, current President of LWV Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Area.

Is there a heat pump in your future? Is your old gas furnace (or water heater) about to expire? What do you need to know about solar panels? How do the costs of these innovative technologies compare to the savings? How do they benefit the environment?
These and many other questions about the new, clean, green energy sources will be answered by local environmental advocate and green energy expert Jay Futterman when you join us on Friday, April 12, at 4:00 PM, at the Lake Forest home of one of our members (address provided when you register).

At the League‘s National Convention, delegates from all Leagues will vote on our 2024–2026 Program, 2024–2026 budget, 2024–2026 LWVUS Board of Directors and Nominating Committee, and submitted bylaws amendments.
There will also be opportunities to network with your fellow League members, participate in a variety of workshops and trainings, and hear from dynamic speakers. LWVUS will host a Lobby Day on Thursday, June 27, and more information on that will be shared soon.
All League members are invited. Each League is entitled to a specific number of delegates.
